The Painted Bunting looks like it came out of a Crayola drawing but it is a real bird with those wonderful bright colors. Of Course just the guys get to wear the prettier colors but even the girls get more out of this one than most. Female Buntings are mostly all Green (with Envy?) So this bird is about the size of a Finch and is Mostly in the Southern USA, Mexico and Central America.  Almost makes me want to move. One of the problems in Conservation for this beautiful bird is that it is illegally caught as a cage bird which does not help the mating population.
